Glass Ceiling - Single
Here's our 'old' Bio circa 2003..... Melaleuca has been in existence in varying formats for approximately 3 years. The band has played across the south of England with a range of signed and unsigned acts. The most notable support slots for the band coming in 2003, opening for Capdown, Johnny Truant and Subvert and playing to a busy LA2 and sold out Forum in Tunbridge Wells. Melaleuca have a wealth of live experience and always put on a show and produce the goods come rain or shine, audience or venue. Each of the band members has been involved in previous bands with varying levels of success. Bassist Colin Renton was formerly with Floor (now Hundred Reasons), drummer Daniel Wheeldon was with punk band Ollie Impossible and vocalist/guitarist Simon Edwards was with alternative rock outfit Concrete Dog. Despite being only a three piece, the Melaleuca sound is still full and powerful, taken from a wide range of influences including Muse, Foo Fighters, At The Drive In, Will Haven and The Dillinger Escape Plan. The music itself is placed in the Alternative Rock genre alongside some of the bands named above. The songs are both aggressive and punchy, yet melodic and vibrant, therefore lending themselves to fans of all types of rock music. Melaleuca have received radio play on various stations and have also featured on several compilation albums including the infamous Farnborough Groove. The live reviews received have also been supportive and surprised in their assessments. Blam! fanzine being just one example of the sort of reviews received. The band are all set for their co-headlining UK Tour in April with The Lockdown Project. The band are also planning to record and release a video before the end of the year in the hope that this will lead to a further tour later in the year and help obtain the band a much coveted recording contract before the end of the year. Most venues cant spell the name right, despite having it spelt out to them! however, once youve heard the band play, you WILL remember the name. Guaranteed! And here's our record company blurb...
