There are multiple musicians by the alias “MEZZ” 1. Merrick / MEZZ aka DJ Merrick Born in NZ then migrating to the UK with his family at a young age, Merrick always had an obsession with anything electronic. While growing up in the UK, he had a large influence from the world of electronic music which is where his drive began. Merrick began DJing at his local youth clubs in Middlesbrough, UK and began to collect records. From his first experience of DJing, his talent of mixing and choosing quality electronic music was clearly exceptional to all who knew him. Migrating to Australia back in the early 90s and buying his first set of turntables led to his record collection growing into a large collection of classic tunes. Merrick then began DJing at home parties where people began to see his talent of mixing grow into him becoming a regular DJ at Perth raves, and becoming known to Perth as a “master on the decks” in the 90s. He DJed at numerous Perth events (Entropy, Rebirth, Sunrise, Insomnia 1 & 2, Lost in Rave and many more). MEZZ has a way of pleasing yet controlling the flow and the mood of the crowd, providing many unforgettable sets to the Perth scene. His past sets are an indication of his ability to combine beats and makes you feel like his music takes control. His instinct and natural talent along with his passion, drive, many years of DJ experience, as well as his obsession to collect hardware synthesizers and build the ultimate electronic music studio has kept his drive to produce a sound of his own, already producing and co-producing a number of tracks dating back to 2005. Now that his dream of creating his own electronic music studio and his collection of synthesizers is complete, there is a new sound in the making with big things to come. MEZZ & AKG complement each other while producing music and both have an understanding that is starting to grow into a musical producing partnership that is heading for big things in the near future. 2.
