The band is one of the first released their first Vietnamese-language studio albums, Lối thoát, in 2005. Later in 2009, Microwave released the album Thời gian with the style changing from nu metal to modern rock. Microwave's music is mainly classified into the alternative rock and nu metal genres. The band is heavily influenced by nu metal artists such as Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, Korn and Godsmack. Microwave is considered one of the typical representatives of rock music in Vietnam from the 1990s to the 2000s.
