MikkiM is a musician, producer, and DJ based in Prague, Czech Republic. He produces his own unique style of music, an original combination of electronics fused with ska, reggae, dub, balkan and punk elements. He composes within a huge variety of styles ranging from chilled dub beats, jungle dancefloor smashers to hardtekno madness. So far he has released 2 full lenght CDs, 7 vinyls and many digital singles. He has played gigs in most European countries and South America, sometimes being a headliner for a festival or club night. Together with MC, Turner, he has been the main support live act for the tours of Dreadzone and Zion Train. He collaborates with worldwide known artists including many legendary names from the music scene In the year 2011 he went to Jamaica for one month and spent there the time recording local artists in Kingston. These recordings were the foundation of his second full length album, Offbeat Rhapsody, that was released in November 2012. This album recently won the highest possible award in the Czech Republic- the equivalent to a Czech Grammy. In the official Czech 'Anděl' awards, Offbeat Rhapsody was voted as 2012's album of the year in the ska and reggae category. In 2012 he started his own music label Big Bong Records focused on groovy electronic and acoustic music. Together with his friend and producer Merak he is running another record label, io.lab ,where MikkiM personally oversees the Offbeat Division, which specializes in hard electronic beats mixed with global world music. MikkiM has a variety of different styles that he can play live. He can play Dj sets specializing in reggae, dub, breakbeat, jungle, drum and bass,hardtekno,raggatek, electro, electroswing and balkan music, performing solo or with his mcs or live instrument players. MikkiM live band was also recently created, it consist of drums, guitar, percussion and electronic background. On the free tekno underground scene he is also known because of his vinyl records and unique liveset performance. With the help of a Korg groovebox, 3 controllers, mixer, and laptop he creates an on the spot exclusive live show. He likes to remix and create new versions of music that he likes, so you can hear sampled fragments from the Clash, Specials, Madness, , RSW etc.. in a new groovy style. If the party is worthy, you may hear his invention, skatek- pumping techno ranging from 150 till 180bpm with offbeat ska flare and live instrument and vocal samples. He is also connected with a unique underground place- Cross Club in Prague.
