O Adonaï: Sacred A Cappella Choir Music from the 20th Century
Mikrokosmos is the solo project of Christian Hayes, an English rock guitarist, singer and songwriter. Born on the 10th June 1964 in London, England and also known as Bic Hayes, he has previously played in a number of bands: most notably Cardiacs, Levitation and as the frontman of Dark Star. Between 1993 and 1995 he recorded as a solo artist under the Mikrokosmos moniker. Since Dark Star split up, Hayes has toured as a guitarist with The Pet Shop Boys and is also involved in tour and production management. Although Hayes Mikrokosmos recordings were made in the mid-nineties, the first track to be commercially released under this name was 'Hold Like Mother's Hand', which appears on the Cardiacs tribute album 'CARDIACS and Affectionate Friends' (2001). The original Mikrokosmos mastertapes were lost after the studio they were housed in flooded. They were transferred to a digital medium and mixed with the help of Tim Smith at the time of 'CARDIACS and Affectionate Friends' release. Following this they were once again forgotten. Finally, in 2007, Mikrokosmos first album was finally released on Ignatia Recordings, it is entitled 'In The Heart Of The Home'. A second record, 'The Seven Stars', was subsequently finished using the returned masters and released in 2008. Read more on Last.fm.
