There are a number of artists performing under the name Mirabai. Mirabai Deborah Daniels is a New Mexico based inspirational atmospheric singer and performer. Her 2003 CD This Love contains a variety of originaldevotional songs. Mirabai Ceiba is a musical projekt founded by Angelika Baumbach from Mexico (Harp and voice) and Markus Sieber from Germany (guitar and voice) They perform a compilation of original songs in Spanish and new arrangements of chants from the North and South American Indians, as well as Mantras from India. Their songs tell about dreams, love and longings, about life and death in a direct relation with nature as a mirror of experiences in life. From this originates a sensitiv programe which wistfully leads you into the world of pictures in the soul. Angelika was born in 1977 in Tucson, Arizona USA. She is the first daughter of a Mexican Mother and a German Father. She grew up in Amecameca, a small town near Mexico City and became familiar with traditional songs and chants. She started her musical career at the age of fifteen as a singer in the group CIELO Y TIERRA, who recorded their first album in 1992 with Warner, Bros. in Los Angeles, Calif. Touring throughout Mexico. Angelika embarked upon a solo carrier in 1997 with the release of AMANECER, which also featured her talents on guitar and harp. In 2001 she traveled to Europe and while performing in the FRINGE FESTIVAL in Edinbourgh, she met actor and musician Markus Sieber. Born in 1974, Markus grew up near Dresden, Germany. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, he founded the rock group STERNRAFFER in 1990 and later he performed with PONYBOY CURTIS as a vocalist and guitar player. With the release of their first single SEAHORSES, they toured throughout Germany, Poland and Russia. Markus started his acting career studying in Berlin and St. Petersburg and has worked in various theatrical productions, movies and television in Germany. When he met Angelika, his music and his acting gained a new perspective which resulted in a merging of their European and Latin American roots. From this merging their first album FLORES was born; recorded in 2003 with Spirit Voyage Music (Virginia) produced by Thomas Barquee in the Zen Den Studio, Los Angeles, Calif. Since the production of this album they have traveled between Europe and America giving concerts. Markus and Angelika are occasionally supported by the Mexican musicians Diego Quiroz (bass/keyboards) and Charly Garcia (bansuri, charango, percussion). Their second album was recorded 2006 again in the Zen Den Studio and the same musicians, this time produced together with Rylan Peery, the founder of Solar Lion Records (Los Angeles), where it will be published in the beginning of 2007. In their concerts they are supported by the mexican musician Charly Garcia (bansuri, charango, percussion) and ocasionally by Gabriela Rosales also from Mexico (voice, harmonium). Mirabai Ceiba have traveled giving concerts in Mexico (Festival Cumbre Tajin, National Theater Oaxaca, Acapulco, Cancùn ), USA (Los Angeles, Santa Fe, Durango, Auburn) and Europe (Amsterdam, Barcelona, Germany). 4.
