Gothica: The New Era

The track Hippo With Remote is the seventh, but second released, track of Misscatylove's debut album, Gothica: The New Era. The track was recorded in 2022 and released to the public on 7th February 2022. The song talks about a journey through the feelings of the hippo, from its sadness to the total state of ecstasy after finding the remote to the final peace, the communion between the hippo and the remote; the transcendence to the beyond. Misscatylove is a non binary Manchester-based artist that has been considered as on the most influential and innovative Moldovan artists of the past century. Their debut single Friends, recorded in 2014 and released in 2021, was considered as the most groundbreaking piece of music of the year. On January 24th 2022, Misscatylove was revealed as one of the 30 acts competing on the Moldovan national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest, with their song Intro. It quickly became a fan favourite, making their fanbase grow even further. Unfortunately, one day later, Misscatylove revealed that they had to withdraw from the selection citing personal reasons and unavailability to travel to Moldova in time for the auditions. On the same day, it was revealed they were already writing the song for the 2023 selection. Outro is also included in the tracklist of their upcoming album Gothica.
