Metonin jakso



Murena is a finnish metal band formed in the year of 2000. However the band had played together few years before that with different names before Murena became stabled name for the band. Though murena -word is close in finnish and english with one of the fishlike eel species, it has nothing to do with this. For the band the name is just enough masculine and rough sounding name to the music they play. The line-up consists of four members: Jarno Kangas (vocals, guitar), Antti Honka (drums, background vocals), Joni Tanskala (guitar, background vocals) and Marko Kangas (bass, background vocals). Murena´s main idea is still that every member brings own spice to final musical totality and to make music that nobody has tasted or made before. When talking about the band´s music, there are some signs about progressivish acts, thrashy elements and even nu metal style creativity. They are playing what they want to, and alternative scale don't limit their needs about making own music. Discography contains the debut album Metonin jakso which was released in the autumn 2007. Upcoming album, named as Katoamispiste, will be released 29.4.2009. Murena signed into the label of Spinefarm Records in 2006. Read more on Last.fm.
