It is primarily a solo/project-based endeavor led by multi-instrumentalist João Freire, who handles all instruments and composition. Névoa crafts immersive, melancholic, and experimental black metal with strong atmospheric qualities, post-black influences, and avant-garde touches. Their sound explores themes of darkness, solitude, and nature, often with a subdued, introspective quality. They incorporate acoustic elements and progressive structures while maintaining a raw, emotional black metal core.
