It was 2003 when the idea for a band came up in the mind of gitarist Thomas Strizek, and he asked his friends to join him. They were enthousiast enough to begin the band, and called it Nordwand. It took a while for them to be discovered by the audience, but after they performed in the famous OBERBAYERN party house at Mallorca (Spain), their fame went upwards. The famous Musikantenstadl was next, and through that performance on television, all of Germany and over the borders they knew now about Nordwand. Their first album reached the top 10, and in 2005 they took part for Austria in the Grand Prix der Volksmusik. During the final in Austria they reached the 3rd place, and at the international final, the 5th. In 2006 they received the Musi-Edelweiß award. Read more on Last.fm.
