There are three artists by the name Nyle: First is the MC Nyle. A Philly born veteran of the New York City Underground, Nyle has spent the past half-decade on a journey through rap that has acquired a legion of followers who identify with his persona as much as they are entertained by his storytelling. Upon his acceptance to New York University Nyle foolishly vowed to release an album for every corresponding year of college. But as fate would have it Nyle became a staple within New York City's SinSin Circuit, (one of the city's most respected collections of rappers) winning the Off-the-Head Game Show Battle, and 2006 Best Freshman MC award. 2007 saw the release of his debut album Frosh. A chronicling of his freshman year at New York University, Frosh quickly became a cult sensation that rose to the top of college charts as Nyle filled venues around the East Coast from clubs to college auditoriums. Nyle became a God among men. But the pressure was too much, and like Dave Chapelle, he escaped to Africa. But just before studying abroad in Ghana, he released S'more an EP that re-recorded, re-sampled, and remix various un-hip-hop-ish songs from the Flaming Lips, Jack Johnson, and Citizen Cope. Now he's back and decompressed and ready for his senior year. On his website nyleraps.com, he has two full albums. Second is a band named Nyle. Its core is represented by turntable-artist and didgeridoo-player DJ raphneck and sax-player grosskopf playing as a duo. from time to time their music is flavoured with the vibes of diverse guest-artists like vocalists lois from Vienna, Austria and miles griffith from Brooklyn, New York City plus world-renown percussion-player hakim ludin, originally from Kabul, Afghanistan. Three is a project from Hamburg, Germany. The Swede Elin Bell / Elin Petersson is responsible for vocals and songwriting. Read more on Last.fm.
