2011
Palmkite was formed in June of 2009 by four old friends looking to make something new. Sam Karpp taught himself to play the bass, Larry Bellomo learned some new tunings, Jackson Smith assumed his first ever role as guitarist and Richard Radimer brought their sound together on the drums. The result of two months’ playing was a demo of five collaboratively written songs that defy simple classification, and reveal the distinctive style of each member. When autumn came, the four members headed off to four different colleges but they continued to play and write music together as often as their varying schedules permitted. The next summer they played a few shows around the Northeast and finished writing and recording a new set of four songs. These songs were released in January 2011 as “The Sound of Snowfall” and were promoted through the band’s only tour to date. Though their performances are infrequent, the band lives on, and plans to release some new music soon.
