Qafas is a Funeral Doom Metal solo band with classical music influences, formed by Learza in the year 2008 in the middle-eastern lands of Bahrain, Qafas is Cage in Arabic Qafas was an ideology that came in the year 2008 by the sole member Learza (Omar A.), but was kept on hold until the year 2009 due to Learza's other musical endeavors; Qafas first began as a Funeral Doom Metal solo band with contemporary classical musical influences, later changing into Avant-garde inspired Metal with influences from various extreme Metal genres. Qafas formed in the middle-eastern land of Bahrain, the name Qafas is Arabic for the word Cage. On May 29th of 2009, a demo entitled Fajr (Twilight) was self-released by Learza for free download on the Internet. On December 30th 2009, the demo was re-released by Thorn Laceration Records to 10 numbered limited copies on cassette, completely written in the Arabic language and also containing different artwork covers. Qafas' writing concepts are based on misanthropy, longing, and freedom. Both the English and Arabic languages are used in lyrical writings.
