Pablo Navarro, professionally known as R.I.Pablo, began his music career at the young age of five. Music came naturally to him as his mother was a singer in Spain and his brothers were all passionate about music as well. His upbringing allowed him to explore music in more ways than one and lead him to become the instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer he is today. Growing up, one of his greatest music influences was The Kinks, an English rock band that was huge in the sixties. Although he said there are many influences behind his eclectic sound, this one helped shape the way for his individual sound the most. “When I was 10 I was just singing loads of songs by The Kinks, and knowing all the lyrics and it was just quite funny because you go to your friends in school and I’d be singing them and they’d say that’s what my mum listens to. Looking back that’s definitely made such a big dent on what I write in my songs. It was constantly playing in my house. I look back on my songs now and it’s like, oh that’s just a Kinks song.” R.I.Pablo spent many years prior to creating his own sound to being the ghost behind some of the most popular songs today. He was a member of The Six, a Manchester-based writing and production collective that has amassed well over 1 billion streams on Spotify. Read more on Last.fm.
