Ramon Pelegero Sanchis (Raimon), born in Xàtiva in 1940, is an important and well-known singer and songwriter from València (Spain). Many know his work for its implication in the political and social movements against the Francisco Franco's fascist dictatorship (1936-1975). Raimon is also known for his vinculation to the ideas of self-determination for València and the Països Catalans (Catalan Countries) and he and his songs have became a symbol of the national fight of this country.
