Formed in 2006, disbanded in 2007 1. Hailing from Richmond, Virginia, redukt has been influenced by bands such as Einstürzende Neubauten, Nine Inch Nails, Squarepusher, KMFDM, miscellaneous independent hip-hop artists from Dead Prez to Snoop Dogg, as well as various Ant-Zen recording artists. redukt is part of the online electronic musicians cooperative anal0g. Redukt was established in 2006 as an experimental solo outlet for Glasgow, UK based musician I.M. Munro. Redukt's output throughout 2006 and 2007 was influenced strongly by both early Industrial pioneers such as Throbbing Gristle, Nurse With Wound and Skinny Puppy, and Noise acts such as Lightning Bolt, Whitehouse and Wolf Eyes. Utilising loops and samples, Redukt created both deliberately claustrophobic harsh soundscapes and extremes of feedback-driven noise. I.M. Munro disbanded Redukt in late 2007 and is now working on a new project initially titled Hibernation with his wife L.A. Munro.
