Desperté
Roser (born 9 May, 1979) is a singer from Canet de Mar, Spain. Both her parents were actors, therefore she entered the stage at the age of two for a catwalk. Growing up she starred in plays directed by her father but also trained ballet, dance and modelling. At the age of 18 she became vocalist in several bands and in 2002 (at the age of 23) Roser auditioned in the TV Talent Show “Popstars”, becoming finalist with a great audience support. After the show, she signed a record deal with Warner Music, editing her first album in 2003, Desperté. In a second edition 80,000 copies were sold with hits like No vuelvas(“Don’t come back) and Quiero besarte(Kiss me”). In 2004 she released Fuego a second LP, which brought her great fame and exceeded 50,000 copies. During this time she recorded a Phil Collins’s song for Disney, included in the OST spanish version of the film “Brother bear”. In 2006 Roser released “Raffaella” an album in tribute to the great Raffaella Carrá. The disc is a very fresh and contemporary version of the diva’s themes. From 2007, Roser decided to found an own label (The Rojo Music) to further develop her career in line with her earliest’ work. Three years later she returned with “Clandestino LP, a commercial, provocative and intimate record, that fused many styles to achieve more actualized sounds. With her first new album single La Bestia, Roser gets into the music scene to the rhythm of Swing-Pop. A work that reflects the artist’s maturity and her explosive signature that assures a place in the top of music charts. On January 26, 2010 was released the new album Clandestino”, with her label and licensed by Warner Music Spain. Read more on Last.fm.
