Ships are Simon Cullen and Sorca McGrath. In late 2011 they landed on the live music scene in Ireland following their posting of a track, Two Hearts, to Soundcloud which got the attention of local and lauded blogger Nialler9. In May 2012 they released their first single You're Gonna Feel It as part of a double A side with friends and cohorts I Am The Cosmos on the flip. They have since gigged throughout 2012 - 2013 with a selection of diverse supports slots from Jape, Kool Thing, Jessie Ware, to New York's Wolf and Lamb and Soul Clap as well as being invited to play some of the countries most loved festivals including The Sea Sessions, Hard Working Class Heroes , Camden Crawl Dublin, Castlepalooza and Electric Picnic. Their sound has been both widely and wildly compared with that of Fleetwood Mac, DFA, Kraftwerk, Moloko, Prince and John Sedaka to name a few, while they themselves offer that the comparisons made to date, when correct, reveal only a handful of their heroes. However they say their greatest influence is the human mind and the power of relationship, companionship and all the other 'ships that make the sum of life greater than our parts. With new material for their debut album currently under construction and a second 7 release due in November 2013, Simon and Sorca will keep themselves busy with live shows which have been described as producing dance music that you actually want to dance to and that's exactly what they do.
