Saimaa is a Finnish post-progressive rock band formed in 2004 by Matti Mikkola. In addition to a live album, the band has released five studio albums, the most recent, Vol.6, released in March 2024. Saimaa represents progressive rock, with Latin music and 60's and 70's entertainment music as the strongest influences. Typical features of the band's gigs include long jamming sessions and cover versions of songs by many well-known and lesser-known artists. Covers Saimaa usually plays with arrangements that differ from the original lyrics. Read more on Last.fm.
