The Quebecois duo that make up Samarkande, Eric Fillion and Sylvain Lamirande, have a complementary background that moves from classical studies (piano and saxophone) through electroacoustics with diversions into the worlds of jazz and new wave. They have produced 4 full-length albums, all of which have been charted on Canadian and American radio and featured in numerous webzines. Radio stations in Montreal, Quebec-City and Ottawa have recently presented Samarkande performing live on-air their most recent album 3 Synapses (2008), all their albums : 4 Cadavres exquis (2002), Rude Awakening (2004), Douglas’ Basement (2006) and 3 Synapses (2008) are distributed throughout Canada by S.R.I.
