From banging on pots and pans at the tender age of 7, to perfecting his Guitar, Bass, Piano, Drums-Skills (and several more exotic Instruments) soon after, Saoul has come a long way. But it doesn't stop there. Constant growth is in a Musicians DNA, whether physical or spiritually. We just can't help it says the romanian-born Singer, Poet, Painter, Multi-instrumentalist, the list goes on. Raised on his fathers extensive Soul, Funk and Rock-Vinyl-Collection, Saoul soon embraced the then flourishing Hip-Hop-Culture and eventually ended up in a heavy Jazz-Love-Affair, which to this day intensively colors his compositions. I love to create on the spot, not intellectualizing what i'm about to play or sing, but just feeling it, letting it flow. It's the closest link to the Creator. Art not calculated but unfiltered, pure Enter Funk Biscuits, Saoul's Debut EP on his very own Phreakyamind Inc. Label, an exotic potpourri of all things good and nasty, analogue synth-funk dipped in jazz-molasses, soulful moans drenched in rock-riffs, futuristic grooves so phat you wanna slap your neighbor. Please don't. While definitely tipping my hat off to some of my Influences, this is a 100%-Saoul-record, from composition, performance and production to the artwork, ect., but more importantly, it's just some music that really came from my heart and i was missing from today's music scene.
