Satolstelamanderfanz is a German band specializing in medieval music and folk. Founded in 2000, the group has developed a unique musical style that they call post-Gothic Ethnoswing. This style blends various musical genres such as medieval rock, medieval and pagan folk, minstrel songs, minnesang, jazz, swing, yodeling, and a cappella. The band places particular emphasis on combining historical instruments with modern influences to create a varied and authentic sound. The members of Satolstelamanderfanz perform in elaborate historical costumes and combine their music with a lively stage show. Their repertoire includes both original compositions and traditional folk songs from various countries. Their music ranges from lyrical ballads to powerful, rhythm-driven pieces that encourage the audience to dance. The humorous and clever moderation of their performances adds to the unique atmosphere. Despite their long-standing presence in the scene, the band remains largely a hidden gem. They consciously avoid extensive merchandising, official fan clubs, or elaborate advertising, focusing instead on the quality of their music and performances. Their motto is: We aim not for the head or the lower body, but directly for the heart! The current members of the band are Tara Dezibella (Great Drum, Darabouka, Pandaretta, Bhodran, Moonbass, Vocals), Dr. Marcuse Esterhazy (Bagpipes, Shawm, Darabouka, Vocals), Herr Maria (Celtic Moonbass, Guitar Cittern, Jingles, Vocals), and Stina Kalina (Bagpipes, Nyckelharpa, Vocals).
