My Burqa Makes Me Sweat



Ever since their foundation in 2006 Selectamood have been pushing the boundaries of contemporary pop music. Starting out as an instrumental trio the band has continuously been working on a style that should compare to no other. After a long search for THE singer, the Sleeping Hylki completed the line-up in summer 2009 and gave the band a new direction. In November 2009 The Belorussian, German, Ukrainian quartet recorded their first full length album “Tell your Friends” during a four-days-straight session and released their debut in early 2010. The band uses the classical rock instrumentation of vocals, guitars, bass and drums, adding synths and sound effects to create a truly unique sound, which blends elements of modern electronic music with the energy and spontaneity of a live band. Selectamood purposely ignore musical genres and conventional pop music structures to create songs that resemble the images in the minds of the musicians. These images are the basis for the lyrics that tell stories of psychos on the loose, parties in elephant skulls, Captain Rufus Dupus and his foggy ghosts or Frank the Tank on a mission to spread love that he will never be able to complete.
