Into The Grey
Sessomorte is music of passion and sensuality. Primarily Electronica, but with vibrant, organic vocal and instrumental performances. An eclectic blend of styles and influences, it is difficult to categorize, but easy to enjoy. This vision is, as was born in the late night musical wanderings, a continuing chronicle of expressive and authentic personal experience and introspection. Sessomorte’s aim is to convey deep emotion from within the somewhat abstract but limitless framework of synth-based music, marrying to electronica the stirring vulnerability of live instruments. Captivating and compelling, ethereal yet primal, it is music of intense passion and sensuality, running the gamut of moods and feelings. The threads of disparate influences are artfully woven into lush aural tapestries. Liliko's voice is a hot, brilliant flame dancing upon the dark but melodic sound-scapes. Sessomorte began in 2001 when a musician/ aspiring producer met a world-renowned Olympic athlete/ aspiring vocalist... Vincent, an artist and musician had been playing bass in an original progressive metal band called The Pure, which after 5 years, had run its course, leaving him burned-out and jaded from the tired NJ/NYC bar circuit. In 1998 he bought a MIDI-sequencer and began writing Electronica; mainly ambient-tinged Trip-Hop and Trance. Having been inspired primarily by Portishead and Garbage, he hoped to find a female vocalist to catalyze and define his new sound, and serendipitously found it in Liliko Ogasawara. She was in a NJ bar, on its famed karaoke night, and Vincent wandered in. After hearing her sing Fleetwood Mac and Madonna songs, he was blown away by her talent. He invited her to sing on some song prototypes, and the two began writing and recording what would eventually become Visceral (2007). They since have release Walls in 2012, and Into The Grey in 2013. Sessomorte's You Are My Black Love, from the rare but acclaimed album, Visceral. the song is heard in So Long Lonesome, by Cameron Beyl. It plays in the scene when Ryan meets a girl in a bar.
