Henry Laufer (born January 3, 1990), known professionally as Shlohmo, is an American musician and producer from Los Angeles. He is widely recognized for his experimental production style and for founding the influential record label Wedidit Records. Shlohmo has made a significant mark on the Los Angeles music scene as both a musician and artist. Over the course of his career, he has released three studio albums—Bad Vibes (2011), Dark Red (2015), and The End (2019)—as well as a number of EPs and collaborative mixtapes. Shlohmo first garnered widespread attention in 2011 with the release of his debut full-length LP, Bad Vibes, which received critical acclaim from outlets such as Pitchfork and Resident Advisor. The album showcased his unique blend of lo-fi beats, atmospheric textures, and experimental sound design, establishing him as a key figure in the electronic and beat scene. Building on the success of Bad Vibes, Shlohmo released a series of EPs, including Vacation (2012) and Laid Out (2013). He also began making a name for himself as a remixer, reworking tracks like Crew Love by Drake and The Weeknd, while producing singles like Brain for Banks. In 2014, Shlohmo teamed up with R&B singer Jeremih for the collaborative EP No More, further solidifying his reputation as a forward-thinking producer. Shlohmo's second studio album, Dark Red, followed in 2015, expanding his sound with darker, heavier tones.
