Sistars - 2 mixes
Sistars is a Polish hip-hop/R'n'B band founded in 2001 by Natalia Przybysz also known as Natu and Paulina Przybysz also known as Pinnawela (the line-up was completed at the end of 2002, when Przemysław Maciolek joined). Their style also incorporates elements of funk and soul. Sistars were put on the map through a guest performance in a song called Zeszyt rymów (The Rhyme Sketchbook) by Polish rapper Tede. On 15th March, 2003 came their debut album, Siła Sióstr (Sister Power) with guest appearances by O.S.T.R., Tede, Ania Szarmach and others. The album was promoted by the single Spadaj (Sod off) along with a video clip. The year 2004 was highly successful for the group, beginning with the release of the Sistars EP and following an immediate success thanks to the single, Sutra. These events won the group numerous awards in the Polish music business (e.g. ESKA Music Award - Best Debut; the Audience Award and the Grand Prix at the Opole 2004 Music Festival). In 2005, Sistars released their second album, A.E.I.O.U. which confirmed their significant position on the Polish R'n'B/hip-hop scene (e.g. three Fryderyk Awards; ESKA Music Award - Best Band). Sistars also won the MTV Europe Music Award for the Best Polish Act two years in a row (2004, 2005). At the beginning of 2007, the band members announced that Sistars was going on hiatus. The Przybysz sisters continued their artistic activities as solo artists, while Bartek Królik and Marek Piotrowski focused on performing with the band Łąki Łan. In 2011, the group reunited for a one-off concert at the Orange Warsaw Festival, and resumed their activities the following year. In 2013, the band's first song after its reactivation, Ziemia (Earth), hit the radio stations, but shortly thereafter, as a result of disagreements, the band was disbanded again, and the Przybysz sisters formed the band Archeo (Archeo Sisters). In 2025, the band reunited again for 3 concerts at the Żywiec Męskie Granie concert series - they played in Wrocław, Kraków (Cracow) and Warsaw. Read more on Last.fm.
