Artificial Existence



Skincold is a Mumbai based band, that has ripped down barriers and skillfully re-arranged song conformity with their experimental / nu-metal music. The atmosphere at a Skincold gig is charged with electric power feeding off primal screams, from a mosh pit of fans loving every ear splitting second of a unique barrage of head on blasts accompanied by neatly etched undertones of electrical melody. The raging metal elements buried in a mix of ambient somber toned vocals is like breathing relief instead of oxygen in respect to the commonly followed genres by the usual corporate mass. Skincolds funky bass lines that intertwine with its fresh drumming patterns are anything but a subtle enhancement to the bands overall strength. This 4 piece band exploded onto the scene by reaching the finals of Livewire, I.I.T, Powai in 2005 where they were placed 3rd amongst 30 Indian bands, also winning the best Vocalist Award. After accomplishing winning positions in an array of music competitions, today they stand out as one of the most refreshing experimental metal bands out there. Their musical infuences include bands like Deftones, A Perfect Circle, Tool, Team Sleep, Devin Townsend, Porcupine Tree, Snot, Pleymo, Chimaira, Slipknot, Ill Nino, Korn, Stabbing Westward, American Head Charge, Dry Kill Logic, Chevelle etc. Skincold also has an EP out on 'Demonstealer Records' called 'Artificial Existence' which is a part of a compilation cd called 'Fine Tuned Disasters' The CD also features EP's by other local bands such as Scribe, Bhayanak Maut, Amidst The Chaos and Bitchslap. They are currently working on a Double Disc album which will release later this year. Disc 1 would include the usual Skincold sound that you are familiar with and Disc 2 would contain a set of Electronic / Chillout / Ambient songs which they have individually made over the past 2 years...
