There are multiple artist with this name. 1) Slyder was the brainchild of Jeremy Dawson and Gregori Chad Petree out of Los Angeles, CA. They got a break being featured on Rise FM on the popular game Grand Theft Auto 3. Slyder's music is progressive dance, often with a big introduction before the main beat is introduced. Currently, Jeremy and Chad are in the indie/rock band Shiny Toy Guns. 2) Slyder is an improv-noise-extravaganza band from The Hague (NL) consisting of Michiel Breedveld (drums/vocals), Lee Bourke (guitar), Olaf Wempe (guitar) and Jan Borchers (bass). Slyder is the musical equivalent of Jackson Pollock. Important for the renowned action painter was not the result but the development of his work. Wild strokes, dripping and hurling of paint, scraping. Pure expression, without stylistical or technical limitations. That's Slyder, no songs, no arrangements, no outlines, pre-fabricated riffs or rhythms, just pure improvisation. Action/reaction: every performance is unique. Mesmerizing drones, soothing intermezzi, tantalizing breaks and an explosive apotheosis. 3) Slyder first gained popularity as a covers band, with two adept slide guitarists they added a Southern twist to their rock'n roll covers. They made this album in 1978, which is mainly made up of original material but has a few covers, which no doubt went down very well at packed-out shows in the Hialeah and Lauderdale clubs such as The Other Place, at Hialeah. Slyder also toured nationally with the likes of Mother's Finest, Cheap Trick, Joan Jett, Savoy Brown and The Fixx. Bring On The Night's lyrics introduce Slyder's self-made, self titled LP with a mission statement; they are here to put their all into entertaining the audience at any dingy dive that will have them. Making Every Moment Count is one of the Thin Lizzy-sounding tracks; Steve Parke's melodically charismatic vocals echo those of Phil Lynott, and the great guitar harmonies seal the deal. Come On Everybody, Keepa' Knockin and Dizzy Miss Lizzy are presumably some of the covers that the band would have knocked people out with live, and they don't pass-by ineffectively as covers within albums often do. The band makes the songs their own, the novelty of hearing these familiar tunes played with loads of awesome slide guitar by a tight band is one of the things that makes them so good. So Funny is one of the most Power Pop tracks, having a New Wave feel too. It's another song that shows the diversity of the band and the potential they had to become a much better-known and commercial success. Move Along certainly moves, and boogies along in a fine way. Slyder made one more record in 1984, a 7 with two songs: Dance With Me / Lucky. After drummer David Petratos left the band in the mid-eighties to join Detroit's The Romantics, the band changed their name to The Big Bang. They made an album called Broken Dreams on the Palm Records label, touring until they split for good around 1990. 4) SlYder is a German electronic music poroducer. It all started for him after listening to San Holo's remix of Dr. Dre's 'The Next Episode' something that didn't just steer him towards future bass and urban direction, but it was proved a life defining moment for him as well, adopting his then future lifestyle.
