SpongeBOZZ (aka. SpongeBozz Gunshot) is a German battle rapper who first became known for winning the JBB (Juliens Blog Battle) in 2013. SpongeBOZZ, back then, hid his real identity by wearing a modified mask of SpongeBob Squarepants and rapping in a high pitch, SpongeBob like voice. Many speculations of viewers spread rapidly over the Internet. Most people were claiming that SpongeBOZZ is in fact Sun Diego, while others have claimed that it is none other than Germany's superstar Kollegah. After his success in winning the JBB and defeating last years king 4tune SpongeBOZZ went on to release more free tracks for his fans including King of Kings, Halloween, and more. He announced a new EP on his Facebook page called Planktonweed, which he released in April 2015. In September it became public, that a decision of the BPjM (engl. Federal Department for Media Harmful to Young Persons) decided to index his album, because it contained hate speech against the german police. After that SpongeBOZZ had retired for 2 years, and didn't release any tracks until early 2017, when he released a double-track on YouTube called SFTB/Apocalyptic Infinity/Payback #forsundiego. In this track he revealed his true identity, Sun Diego, by rapping in his normal voice, though wearing a bandana to still hide his face. In this track he talks about how he became SpongeBOZZ, and also insults many other German rappers, including Kollegah, his biggest rival. The track went viral as his awaited comeback, and still makes thousands of views 3 years later. In this track he also announced his 2 new EPs, called Started from the Bottom and Krabbenkoke. In April and May 2017 he released 4 new tracks on YouTube, which will also be included in his EPs. These tracks combined got a total view-count of 335 million. In February 2018 Sun Diego released his own biography with the help of Dennis Sand (a German author). In his book he talks about his youth, his complete carrer as a rapper, and his arrest. The book was in the top 50 of the most selled books in Germany for 2 whole weeks. After releasing a few other tracks, he again didn't release tracks himself, but supported other rappers that are signed by his label Bikini Bottom Mafia. In 2019, he uploaded a picture on his Instagram account, showing him and Kollegah sitting next to each other. The caption says Ze Bottles keep poppin‘ 2005-20XX, which also makes fun of the German accent when speaking English.
