There are at least three bands called Strain: 1) Strain was a 90's metalcore band from Canada. They released records for New Age (Here And Now see albums section) and Heartfirst Records. 2) Strain is a metal band from Bolton, United Kingdom. They blend elements of Down, Corrosion of Conformity, Black Sabbath and Pantera to produce a metal / stoner sound worthy of the big hitters in the industry. Also they released their self titled debut album in May 2007 on Total Impact Records. Strain have received critical acclaim from media across the UK and have had airtime on National Radio (BBC Radio, Bruce Dickinson's Rock Show). 3) Strain is a alternative / melodic metal three-piece band from Rīga, Latvia formed in summer of year 2007. Since the ending of year 2008 band shortly continued their action under name Nixus.
