Dubcore Volume 18
i've been listening to music since hearing my mother sing in operas and choirs while in the womb. from there it progressed to a love for hardcore punk, grindcore, industrial, techno, to eventually jungle and breakcore in 1995. i didn't even really like jungle until i started hearing the harder wild amen programming styles of remarc, krome and time, shy fx, and especially Alec Empire. In 1996 i decided i needed to learn how to dj and bought my first set of tables. unfortunatly, the only vinyl i could find here was acid house, gabber and the occasional jungle record for the first few years until i started ordering it online. i played mostly regular uk style dnb along with phunckatek test presses and dubplates from UFO!. then in the year 2000, i started talking to a producer named Grizzly from LA California over the internet and he told me i should download some free programs and start making my own jungle. so i started out using hammerhead rhythm station, cool edit 96 free version, and acid express. ...i doodled some crappy little tunes for the next few years and never really took it seriously(how could i when i was so drunk and stoned all the time?). then in late 2003 i made the desicion to get serious. and i did. i quit drinking and doing any kind of drugs and my production took off. in 2004-2005 i had 5 record releases: 1 Mos-Hi 001 Jahba - Murda Dem and SuMoNe - Reckless, Jungle Expeditons 16 Armed Jack / Sumone - See U Smile/Love So Nice, Sprengstoff EP Murdarah, Shut the F*** Up, Sound Bwoy Doin Time, Freak Out, Aural Carnage 003 The Flesh of Fallen Angels(Bazooka rmx), and Jahba&SuMoNe - Part Time Revolutionary on Jahba's Kriss EP. In 2006: Mysteries of a Sacred Universe / Put a Smile On Your Face (12) Black Track Records, Gimmie some hardcore choon - Mash Dem Sound (12) Mash Records mos-hi 003 sumone and oobokubo - mash up cancer... ..I have more record deals in the works right now (including renegade recordings, mindrush, and a sublable of soothsayer recordings called dubplatelet that will be more dub and ragga mash up) and i am currently working on an ableton live improv drumfunk/breakcore/ dark jungle/dubwise show using my laptop, a uc-33e midi controller, novation remote sl25 and tascam us-122 soundcard.
