Tesa is a three-piece band from Rīga, Latvia, mostly associated with post-metal and experimental metal genre. Since 2005, the band has gained much attention from local listeners as well as from rest of Europe and Russian Federation with numerous tours and festival appearances. In 2012, the band has released their fourth studio album IV on Old Skool Kids label in Russian Federation, which demonstrates a passion for experiments with genres and sound textures, mixing dark melodies with feathery soundscapes, ambiances, psychedelic loops, and even noise music, abstracting themselves from mainstream standards of heavy music. Previously released albums Tagad, Nekad and Heartbeatsfromthesky have gained recognition as a fresh take on today's metal music. Members of Tesa often mentions Neurosis, Shora, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Grails, and even Converge as their main influences, witch is consistent with the band's genre bending activities.
