Velha Infância
Tribalistas are three highly acclaimed artists from Brazil: Marisa Monte, Arnaldo Antunes and Carlinhos Brown. Each has enjoyed a successful solo career, but when they came together to record one album, they received a Latin Grammy Award in 2003. Their self-titled debut, released in late 2002, became a cultural phenomenon, selling over three million copies worldwide and producing hits such as Já Sei Namorar and Velha Infância. The album’s distinctive blend of Brazilian popular music, pop, and world music elements gained international recognition, charting in several countries and earning multiple national and international awards. After the debut, the group did not continue as a permanent act, choosing instead to focus on their individual careers. They occasionally reunited for special performances, including the 2013 single Joga Arroz, released in support of same-sex marriage. In 2017, they reunited for a second album, also titled Tribalistas, followed by a major world tour between 2018 and 2019 that included Brazil, Latin America, the United States, and Europe. A live album, Tribalistas Ao Vivo, was released in 2019. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
