Oy!
TUMMEL is a 7-piece band based in Malmö, Sweden and Copenhagen, Denmark. Right from the start in 1997 they won the hearts of both folk and rock audiences, and has since attracted a growing number of fans across Sweden, Denmark, the UK, Italy, Slovenia and Estonia. They have played live both in Swedish and Estonian Television and Danish National Radio on several occasions, not to mention local stations in Siberia, Texas, Turkey, Greece, Germany etc. etc. Tummel has played every kind of venue from small bars to big rockfestival stages, and people seem to get a kick where ever they set their foot. Starting out in 1997 with traditional music from Eastern Europe, Tummel has gone through a gradual developement, so that today litterally all of the band's material is own compositions, and the influences from other genres are more apparent. Although all band members are strong instrumentalists, what really makes the crowd go wild on a Tummel concert is their extraordinary capability as a live band. The Tumlers spare no effort to give the audience a once in a lifetime experience, leaving the audience gasping for breath with sweat flowing from their armpits. Tummel has released three albums: their debut effort, Oy!, appeared in 2001, and Transit came out in 2004. 2009 the first album with vocals was released, Payback Time. The band's lineup is Jens Friis-Hansen on vocals, Jonathan Aisen drums and percussion, Pär Moberg on saxophone, Øvind Alexander Slaatto on tuba, Tobias Allvin on guitar and bouzouki, Andreas Rudenå, violin and guitar and Edin Bahtijaragic on accordion.
