Fuck You Pay Me
Tymon, (Tymon Smektała) born 22.01.1977, Wrocław, is one of the pioneers of Wrocław rap. He first became widely known to the local community in the mid-90s, as one half of the duo TNT, which he co-created with Wuesz. However, the duo's cooperation did not result in any legal releases. Tymon decided to focus on his solo work, which resulted in the album Szelma recorded at the turn of 1998/99. The album is still considered a Lower Silesian classic. The album presented Tymon as a witty storyteller, and also showed the potential of Magiera (currently the Whitehouse duo), a talented Wrocław producer. Then Tymon became known to a wider group of people as a hip-hop journalist, writing articles for Klan - the first Polish magazine about Hip-Hop. Smektała's sharp pen caused the Kielce band Wzgórze Ya-Pa 3, dissatisfied with the poor rating in Klan, to record a track stigmatizing the Wrocław MC entitled Fast Food, Tymon's reaction to this recording was a track entitled Tyle Snów. This fight of words also became one of the first beefs in Poland. Tymon was the informal winner of this duel. The next step in his career was the album Świntuch released by the T1-Teraz label. The production, full of sexual themes, was not met with a warm reception, mainly due to the subject matter contained in it. Undeterred by this failure, Tymon hit with another material, which was the rapper's proper solo debut entitled Zmysłów 5, an album in a completely different style, more mature both lyrically and musically. Magiera was responsible for the sound of the album. The album was met with favorable reviews from the media, which did not entirely affect the commercial success of the album. After releasing the album, Tymon focused on concert activity, often performing together with musicians from the band Miloopa. An interesting fact is that Tymon works in the editorial office of CD-Action, a magazine about computer games, where he writes under the pseudonym Hut Sędzimir. He is also the author of books on public relations. He holds a Ph.D. in economics from the Wrocław University of Economics. Read more on Last.fm.
