RÓA


"RÓA" (translated in English as "Row") is a song recorded by Icelandic electronic music duo VÆB. It was released on 17 January, 2025 through Alda Music as their entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025. The track was written by Gunnar Björn Gunnarsson, Hálfdán Helgi Matthíasson, Ingi Þór Garðarsson, and Matthías Davíð Matthíasson, with production handled by Matthíasson and Garðarsson. The duo consists of two brothers - Hálfdán Helgi Matthíasson (born 4 June 2003) and Matthías Davíð Matthíasson (born 7 December 2004). They made their debut in the recording industry with the studio album Væb tékk, released in September 2022 and preceded by the singles Aron Can (Borðar kál) and Þetta kallar á drykk. They have also collaborated with Ingi Bauer, which helped them reach their first commercial numbers. In February 2024, VÆB participated in Söngvakeppnin, the national selection method for the Eurovision Song Contest, with the song Bíómynd. After passing the semi-finals, they reached the final, where they finished in 4th place. In 2025 they participated in Söngvakeppnin once again with the song RÓA, winning the selection and earning the right to represent Iceland at this year's Eurovision Song Contest in Basel. They performed in the first semi-final, ended up qualifying for the grand final and finished with 33 points total. Read more on Last.fm.
