SOLSTICE D'ÉTÉ




Valser is a three-piece doom / post metal band from the Netherlands. Their sound is mainly discordant with a strong focus on rhythm, alternated with some heavy atmospheric parts. The band has first risen in 2004 from the ashes of Dutch experimental metal band Vastatrix. After a 3 years of silence, the band started rehearsing again back in 2007. Since then they have recorded two demo's but those two never really saw daylight. In February 2011 they finally released City; a 5 song EP, for which the band takes full recording and mixing responsibility. City was played, recorded and mixed in 2010. The EP was self-released on CD in February 2011. The cover art of City is illustrated by comic artist Jorg the Vos who is known and recognized for his contribution to the comic series Storm. Musically Valser is compared to seemingly different acts such as Melvins, Today is the Day, Alice in Chains, Neurosis and Acid Bath. Read more on Last.fm.
