WONHO has mentioned that the track was inspired by his love for early 2000s pop, specifically citing *NSYNC and M2M's "Pretty Boy" as influences. Lee Hoseok, better known by his stage name Wonho (원호), is a South Korean singer under Highline Entertainment. He is a former member of MONSTA X, which debuted under Starship Entertainment in 2015 through Mnet's survival show, NO.MERCY. On October 31, 2019, Starship announced his departure from MONSTA X following allegations surrounding him. Following the conclusion of the investigation and with his name cleared of allegations, Wonho signed with Highline, a subsidiary of Starship, as a solo artist. The agency announced that he would be promoting as a solo artist and producer going forward. Wonho announced the release of his first solo album, Love Synonym #1: Right for Me, for September 4, 2020.
