The band released their debut EP, Clementine, in 2008. In November 2008 they were announced as Triple J's Unearthed winners and performed at the Melbourne Big Day Out. This was followed by the release of a second EP, How To Tame Lions in September 2009. Washington Washington is the Norwegian indie band now known as Mount Washington, hailing from Tromsø, Norway, but now based in Berlin, Germany. Founding members of the group are singer/songwriter and guitarist Rune Simonsen, drummer Esko Pedersen and bassplayer Andreas Hoyer. Their music can be referred to as Saybia or Coldplay-like, with melancholic and melodic guitars and piano's, but they're not afraid to experiment on occasions. They released three albums as Washington: A New Order Rising (2004), Astral Sky (2007) and Rouge / Noir (2008). In 2011, coinciding with the recording of their fourth album, the band changed their name into Mount Washington. The self-titled 'début album' under the new band name was released in early 2012.
