The Whyzdom project started in early 2007. Vynce Leff, more known in the progressive area, for producing several albums signed on the british label CYCLOPS RECORDS (bands : SAENS, SENSITIVE TO LIGHT), decided to start a new metal band with symphonic elements. After recruiting the band members, a first EP Daughter Of The Night was recorded less than 6 months from the band's inception. It got instant acclaim from reviewers and music fans around the world, as well as several awards and plaudits (Best French Band 2008 - Metalsymphonique.com, Best EP - HeavyLaw.com, etc). Although still a young band, WHYZDOM were invited to play in several festivals in France - most of the time as headliner - and won the Metal Female Voices Fest Contest in Belgium in October 2008. They played in the 7th edition of this great Festival (17/10/2009) and also played as official support to DELAIN to launch their début album. In June 2010, WHYZDOM lead vocalist left the band. Lisa Middelhauve, former XANDRIA singer, accepted to be guest lead vocalist for the band performance at the RAISMES FEST 2010 and for their concert in PARIS as support for TARJA. In December 2010, Clementine Delauney joined the band as lead vocalist. The band composed and recorded their new album Blind? with temporary vocalist Elvyne Lorient, which was released on 30 October 2012 by the Italian Metal label Scarlet Records. The album was produced by Vynce Leff, recorded and mixed at Powermania Studio in Paris.Marie Rouyer became their new front woman in January 2013 and toured with the band to promote this album. On 11 January 2014, it was announced that the band began recording their third album with Marie Rouyer. The album titled Symphony For A Hopeless God was released on 17 February 2015 on Scarlet Records. Lead vocalist Marie Rouyer got married in July 2015. She took the name from her husband and is now known as Marie Mac Leod. The fourth album As Time Turns to Dust was released by Scarlet Records on 6 April 2018. The line-up changes before the recording of the fifth album. Marc Ruhlmann and Tristan Demurger leave the band. Régis Morin records all the guitars of the album and Vynce becomes the bass player.
