This track, written by Kurt Phillips became the cornerstone of the Metal Blade album of the same name. The album was originally going to be titled "Riders of Doom", but Metal Blade President Brian Slagel liked 'Saxons" so much, he changed the title of the record. The song has been covered by at least 2 bands: U.S. metal mavens 'October 31st', and also by Kurt Phillips himself on the 2002 'Sinister Grip' mini c.d. by his current band WARHAG.
