Zabrisky
Indie before this term began to represent this pathetic, global ragbag everyone knows, Zabrisky have been playing together since the second half of the 90's; they released some self produced demos, one ep, two full length, they performed on the stages of the best clubs in Italy (and abroad) and shared them with several international artists, becoming by right someone-to-look-at for the whole musical underground in Italy. Fortune is always hiding is their new work, ten splendid little gems of pop rock, slightly inspired by the C86 project winking at the early production of Creation Records, ten brilliant jewels of sound which please the listener’s ears and show how the band has reached a point of full maturity. Their musical journey, with Orangegreen before (2002) and Northside Highway after (2008), with Fortune is always hiding now has finally come straight to the point and reveals a solid structure: Giovanni Ferrario’s skilful direction highlights in detail a sophisticated, smart sound where Zabrisky have left their mark. Every track in Fortune is always hiding impresses since the first listen: you feel completely disarmed when you begin to understand how life, desire, regrets, blood, memories in the album can warm you up in this era of cold musical bulimia.
