Zaylevelten, whose real name is Chisom Okoro, is a Nigerian artist from Ikorodu, Lagos. His family is originally from Ohaozara, Ebonyi State. He attended St. Margaret for primary school, began secondary school at the boarding school Kith and Kin, and later moved to a day school called Tindip. He first started releasing music under the name Aizay, but changed his stage name to Zaylevelten because people often mispronounced the original name. Zaylevelten is known for a raw, experimental sound that blends trap, alté, hip-hop, and Afrobeats influences. His style mixes English, pidgin, Yoruba, and Igbo, and he often switches flows rapidly, making his sound distinctive and unpredictable. He also produces and engineers much of his own music. His major breakout moment came in 2025 with the viral single “Maye”, which significantly expanded his audience. He followed up with “Pawon” and “Fly”, continuing to build momentum. On October 1st, 2025, he released a 12-track mixtape titled “then 1t g0t crazy”, which strengthened his reputation as one of the most exciting rising voices in the Nigerian underground and alté scenes. Zaylevelten is known for creating genre-defying music and rejecting mainstream formulas. His artistic vision emphasizes originality, culture-blending, and emotional intensity. Beyond music, he expresses himself through fashion and has mentioned wanting to create his own clothing and accessories in the future. As of late 2025, Zaylevelten stands at the forefront of the new generation of experimental Nigerian artists.
