New Pinoy band Zelle releases debut offering on July 15 is said to be perfect for the cold nights. The album, christened Search for Warmth is a heartwarming collection of songs of passion, love and inspiration performed by a quintet of twenty-something musicians who call themselves Zelle, in reference to their lead vocalist and main composer Jeazell Grutas who put the band together. The album is a pleasant reminder of how it is to be in touch with one's own feelings. The music holds you in an embrace and refreshes you like after having a good cry. Jeazell's writing reaches deep into a woman's core, unravels thoughts and emotions beyond its words which are set free in the melodic expression of her voice. Though their music is set in Alternative Pop-Rock consciousness, Zelle's sound has a twist all to its own. Aside from the violin tracks that lace the songs, it is Jeazell's rich voice that permeates and grabs you. But what make the songs shine all the more is its honesty; honesty not only of feelings, but of the individual styles of all the other musicians who were given their own creative space in this album. Zelle creates music that holds its own ground amidst the buffet of present-day pop. The artistically-crafted album of 11 original songs is passionate, melancholic and intensely heartwarming. It took over a year of hard work to complete the collection. Part of the time spent on the album was finding their collective musical voice – one that is cohesive and tight yet does not downplay each musician's individual strengths. Zelle is destined to be a musical phenomenon. Joining Jeazell in her music-making chores is brother Jasper Grutas who plays drums, Anthony Ramirez who plays violin, Enan Cruz who plays Bass, and Archie Salvador who plays lead guitar. Their carrier single Sabihin is an enigmatic ballad of a woman deserted by her lover. The album Zelle: Search for Warmth will hit music stores nationwide on July 15, 2007, and is exclusively distributed by Sony-BMG Music Entertainment. Read more on Last.fm.
