Through solitude, lonesomeness, deflated self-esteem, and everything in between, four adjacent pals Arifin Kurniawan, Bagas Asfriansyah (also known as minor dialogue), Guntur Maulana, and Ridho Asadul Haq decided to put themselves together as a devil-may-care coterie called Eitherway. sometime in 2017. Originated from Malang, Indonesia—and Tangerang, too, apparently—they seem to want to bring up whatever comes in mind without neglecting their schmaltzy-punk roots. In 2018, at length, their long-held indignation Hiding in Plain Sight is now available everywhere. Consisting of five outspokenly upright tracks, though “contented despondencies” is what they like to refer themselves as, it’s safe to say that the band itself hasn’t been “contented” enough as they want them to be; it’s the irony, which what makes them blare out ‘cause it’s what they’re possibly made out of.
