Nikbitz is the project name for music producer Alex Doggett. The name nikbitz implies the nature of his work - using samples from his favourite artists and films and reworking them into semi-original works, giving credit where credit is due. Nikbitz' arrived in 2009 as a hobby, using just a laptop and free or trial software - showing that music production can be done by anyone for free. nikbitz's first album - the free to download 'Little Big Steps' of 2009 - contains six tracks - each were made from first idea to final production and release within the space of four to six hours. Nikbitz uses a trial version of Ableton LIve 7 and Audacity to produce and record his music on a laptop - and nothing else!
