Los Angeles based Oxóssi was raised on a vast array of music since early childhood: from jazz artists like Duke Ellington and Oscar Peterson to more dynamic progressive pop/rock acts like Yes, Supertramp, Rush and Emerson Lake & Palmer. Later in his youth, Oxóssi acquired a taste for hip-hop through the stylings of J Dilla, Common and MF Doom, which would eventually form the basis of his initial electronic production endeavors. He first started producing electronic music after graduating college, and started creating hip-hop beats inspired by his long time love of the genre.
