usedcvnt, who is also known under the alias Violet, is an 18 year old (as of 19/01/24) jungle and atmospheric drum & bass artist who gained popularity through the social media platform TikTok. The name Violet originates from usedcvnt's original character, who is prevalent on the covers of her EP wonderfulcore and the ultraviolet album. Violet often jokes about being from Antarctica, but nothing is known about her real place of birth. usedcvnt started posting about her songs on TikTok after she uploaded her debut single “sorry mom, i’m making breakcore xd” on November 30, 2022. Her account gained traction after a video she posted, in which she shared her first song and asked for other's opinions on it, suddenly went viral and amassed over 720k likes. Even though Violet receives much love and praise from her fans, she is often criticized because her tracks are seen as “generic” or “boring.” She also receives hate due to to her artist name, which is similar to Sewerslvt, another successful DNB artist. According to Violet, the name usedcvnt was simply something she came up with as a placeholder name, akin to a joke, that she feels she can no longer change due to her suddenly gained popularity under it.
