xxtropicpunk captivated the world amidst their sudden emergence on the internet. Claiming to be Skylar Anderson, a name that has no accurate birth records and at the time showed no correct results on Google, xxtropicpunk lays claim to a unique alternative electronic style of music equal parts energetic and psychedelic that draws inspiration from chillwave, synthwave, house, and hip-hop among many other genres. The identity of Skylar was gradually revealed online throughout January 2024 with various social media accounts being rebranded as xxtropicpunk accounts. Skylar revealed xxtropicpunk as the artist formerly known as Codezz and that Skylar Anderson is the name they wish to be addressed by to distance themselves from past trauma. This trauma is often, but lightly referenced throughout xxtropicpunk's discography as well as in music released by Skylar under the name Skylar Anderson. Skylar's debut album, a concept record titled perfect in the way the universe intended was released on February 5, 2024 taking on a downtempo psychedelic electronic style with a slight alternative tinge throughout. On September 19, 2025 Skylar released their first colllaboration, Empty Space (feat. Quake) with Dutch singer/songwriter Quake lending their vocals to the track. Read more on Last.fm.
