Love Chills
There are multiple groups by the name of Yawn: 1. YAWN is an experimental metal band based in Oslo, Norway. 2. Yawn is an indie rock band from Chicago, Illinois. Since forming in 2009, Chicago’s YAWN has drawn comparisons to the likes of Animal Collective, Yeasayer, and MGMT with their experimental sound, but the band has managed to keep things fresh and forward-thinking. YAWN released their sophomore LP, Love Chills, on September 9th, 2014 via Old Flame Records. Inspired by shaky romantic affairs, the cosmic, genre-bending album is like listening to the band’s own brand of electro-infused indie pop through a trippy, psychedelic filter, featuring buzzing guitars and warbling synth. The band also put together an album teaser video, featuring snippets of various Love Chills tracks set to appropriately mind-bending images. Much like 2011’s widely-praised Open Season, Love Chills is simultaneously unconventional and accessible, mixing off-kilter psychedelia with infectious pop hooks. Its ten tracks take listeners on a journey through lush soundscapes, peppered with driving beats and hazy, blissful melodies. Releases: YAWN E.P. (2009), YAWN REMIX! (2010), Open Season (2011), Open Season Remix (2012), Happy Tears EP (2012), Love Chills (2014), Day Trip E.P. (2015). 3. Yawn is an experimental group formed by three friends in Springfield, MO and characterized by absolute improvisation and home-made instruments. Yawn has 4 releases: Sap, Blade of Grass, Single is Mass, the triple mini-cd release Calyx and The Halcyon and the Mendicant. Their releases can be downloaded from Close/Far Recordings--a (primarily) cassette label focused on avant-garde and experimental performance--run by Yawn's own N.N.N. Cook. Members of Yawn have continued to create inspiring sounds as/in The Current Group, Coppice and Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin, as well as contributing to and producing many other projects. 4. Yawn is a Swedish chiptune band. According to themselves they sound like the music you'd imagine your LEGO-toys would dance to if they actually went to a disco. And trust me - they do. Everytime you leave the room. Yawn is well known for their spectacular live performances and the annual Yawnfest. 5. Yawn is a punk rock band from Barcelona, Spain. They have recorded an album in 2005 titled Keep on Yawning. 6. Yawn is a band from Wellington, New Zealand who play Blackened Apathy. 7. YAWN is a sludge/stoner rock band from Dundee, Scotland Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
